Greetings all! Things area starting to heat up in Sakai and it looks like another hot summer - I can say this before the rainy season (tsuyu) has even arrived! There’s still plenty to do in Sakai through the summer though, despite the heat.
Read MoreOn 23rd August 2014, in recognition of the 20 year sister city relationship between Sakai and Wellington, a symbolic giant kimono was erected as the centrepiece for the Wellington Japan Festival held at the TSB Arena. This kimono was a collaborative piece of art created by school students and youth groups in the Greater Wellington and Kansai areas.

Sakai City Government is holding “HOBBIT EXHIBITION”. (Sakai is an imaginary sister city of the Shire) The exhibition is from 11 to 25 December, at Sakai City Government Building. The Hobbit movie 3 has been screening in Japan from 13 Dec.
